My name is Joel Willson. I’ve been teaching music lessons for over 15 years. I’ve been living in Connecticut for 1 year and am now establishing my studio here. My family is from Southern Louisiana, living in New Orleans for the past 7 years. We’re so excited to become part of the community in CT.
My teaching philosophy revolves around accessibility and access, student-driven learning, and self-paced lessons.

- I believe everyone deserves access to excellent quality music lessons. I pursue excellence and attention to detail every step of the way. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Different learning styles, dreams, and goals are encouraged to apply for a spot in my studio.
- Student-Driven Learning
- Students select the learning goals. Whether you want to learn Jazz or Classical, Funk or R&B, I customize the learning objectives based on your personalized needs.
- Self-paced Lessons
- I cater to the needs of the students. If you’re a fast learner, want to take your time, or anything in between, lessons are formulated to help the student achieve their learning objectives that we establish in the very first lesson.
Music education has had a profound impact on my life, including giving me the opportunity to go to the college of my choice and giving me a very satisfying career. I’m very passionate about what I do and love sharing the joy of music with others!
